Barbara Gregory had all but given up hope that she’d ever see her digital camera again after her husband Dennis Gregory accidentally dropped it overboard while on a cruise ship in 2008. The couple from Johannesburg, South Africa, was on a quiet trip aboard the QM2 cruise ship from New York to Southampton when their Nikon P90 went tumbling into the sea, which they presumed would never be seen again.
But 16 months later Benito Estevez, a fisherman from Spain, found the camera in his nets with the photos still intact on the memory card. The fisherman decided to use the photos to find the camera’s original owners by posting five pictures of the couple posing on the deck of the ship online. Friends of the couple saw the coverage in Britain and quickly contacted the owners to get in touch with the fisherman. Read the full story at The Telegraph UK…

Burgy66’s hometown of Sebring, FL, is also the hometown of journeyman major league pitcher Tom “Flash” Gordon. Over his 20-year career Gordon has been with eight MLB teams, starting his career with the Kansas City Royals and was recently a part of the Philadelphia Phillies 2008 World Series team. In 1998 Gordon was named the Rolaids Relief Man of the Year Award given to the top relief pitcher of the regular season and between the 1998 and 1999 seasons set an American League record for most consecutive saves (54).
