Cadsamd Wins $500 In Super Chef, Plans Week Long Getaway

Written by ohryankelley / February 9, 2010 5:41 pm / 1 Comment

CadsamdLast month Gamesviller Cadsamd of Hermantown, MN, won a $500 playing Super Chef here at Gamesville!

What will she be doing with her BIG winnings? What’s her Gamesville member name an anagram for? Find out below…

Gamesville: Congratulations! What was it like when you realized you won?
I was trying out the new game Super Chef and started playing just for the fun of it.  When I was playing up popped a screen with all the W, I, N letters and I thought ‘Wow, is the winning screen?’  So I played it out and then it gave me the choice of picking a letter for my prize.  When it opened to $500.00 I was in complete shock! My husband was on the phone and when he got off I screamed, ‘I just won $500.00 on Gamesville!’

What will you spend your winnings on?
I was laid off in April of 2008 and for the first time in 40 years I have been unemployed. Even though my husband works full-time we have had to make sacrifices and cut back on the some of the fun things we enjoy. We were debating taking a trip this summer and with the extra $500.00 we decided to take a week vacation out of town.

What do you do for a living?
Before being laid off last year I was a full charge bookkeeper for an electrical contractor. I enjoy accounting but working full-time was hard to balance along with being able to spend time with aging parents and grandchildren.

What’s your favorite month?
I think August would be my favorite month because it’s warm but not too hot and humid. I live in Minnesota and as I get older I’ve learned to hate winter months and really embrace the summer.

How would friends describe you?
I’m usually called generous when it comes to giving to my kids and grandchildren. I would prefer to be referred to as loving.

What does your member name mean?
My member name is made up of the first three letters of my last name and the initials of my husband, myself and our two sons.

Thanks, Cadsamd – and congratulations again on your win!

Gamesville: What inspired your member name?
The name “Angel-luvsong” came to me because I write songs and my husband calls me “Angel” — so it seemed to fit.

How long have you been writing songs?
Nine years. I’m always singing: alone, with company, in the shower, anywhere. All the time; it doesn’t matter where.

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned as a song writer?
Inspiration can come from anywhere — from movies, books, strangers, even just stray thoughts.

What’s your favorite sound?
I’ve never been asked a question like this before! But my answer is windchimes. There’s something mystical about that beautiful sound that just relaxes me.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
This may sound silly since I’m a grown woman… but if I could travel anywhere in the world, I would go to Disney World. I grew up with their movies. Plus, “magic” happens there — I really do believe that.

Do you have a favorite movie or song?
Not really. I’ll watch or listen to whatever’s on. I believe everything deserves a fair shot. If I don’t like a movie at the beginning, I’ll keep watching it until the end, thinking maybe I misjudged it. I’m not as forgiving with music.

What’s your favorite Gamesville game?
You probably hear this a lot… but I love Bingo! Hopefully one day, I win, too, LOL.

Thanks for talking with us, Angel-luvsong — we’ll be listening for you singing in the Bingo Zone.

Best Pet: Velmarosinaj Remembers Her Friend James

Written by ohryankelley / February 4, 2010 3:01 pm / 2 Comments

Velmarosinaj's Friends JamesThis week’s Best Pets comes to us from Gamesviller Velmarosinaj from all the way down under in Western Australia. This week she’s sharing stories about her pet, James, who recently passed away:

“Here is my dog James who I got from a rescue center here in Australia eight years ago. He came with some very sad issues, being scared of being handled and would even snap at family members if they tried to pick him up. Sometimes he would hide under the bed and only come out for his dinner, it was such a sad sight.

“But what was really funny about James is what a fantastic singer he was! I would sing ‘How much is that doggy in the window’ in front of him and he would always sing along.

“After eight years of loving and caring for James with all my heart and soul he has left me. Knowing I gave him eight more years than he would have had if I had not taken him home makes me happy for the times we had together. Love and miss you, James.”
