It feels like cold, hard cash is falling as furiously as the snow outside our windows: Yesterday, Calabrese-1 of Rome, Italy, won $1,874 playing Three-Eyed Bingo! Congratulazioni!
Given our affection for the animated show Futurama, it should come as no surprise that many people at Gamesville HQ are also big fans of the producers' other animated TV show, The Simpsons.
We just received an early Christmas present–The Simpsons Movie on DVD–and we loved every minute of it. Well, loved at least 79 minutes of its 87 minute run time, anyway.
The action in the big screen version of the TV series, naturally, starts with Homer when he adopts a pig on its way to the slaughterhouse. Homer's inability to care for his new best friend triggers an environmental catastrophe, forcing the government to seal Springfield into a dome and destroy the city. It's then up to Homer and his family to the save the day.
The movie contains the regular Simpsons jokery and violence, so if you like that, you'll love this. But be forewarned there is some funny-yet-disconcerting cartoon nudity, which may be offputting to some. However, the only real disappointment with the movie: No Gill.
Thematically, The Simpsons Movie tackles many of the same issues as the TV series–family bonds, politics, religion, and the environment–but does it in a way that makes it feel funny and fresh. If you like satire and slapstick humor, this is definitely worth your time.
Last month, we introduced you to the All-New Gamesville Spades. Today, Hearts and Euchre each got a similar makeover, including…
A number of you suggested that we move the game status messages out of the chat area in Spades and put those messages elsewhere on the game board. We liked this idea a lot, so today we made this change in Spades and also updated Euchre and Hearts to offer the same functionality.
In that same vein, many of you requested the ability to replace bots in your current game with real players without leaving the table you're currently sitting at; with today's release, you can now invite players from the lobby to your table directly from your game, without leaving the table: just click the "Invite Player" button on the bot you'd like to replace.
Last but not least, we're happy to provide you with two popular online games: Rise Of Atlantis and Brickshooter Egypt. If you like the free online versions of these games, be sure to try the full download versions also available from the games' lobby pages.
We hope you enjoy these games and new features. As always, please let us know what you like and what you don't…
At Gamesville HQ, we receive unusual communications all the time. Let's open up the GV Mailbag and see what we get. Today's message is from "Ashlyn" who writes…
Δhey, can you have boyfriends on here? Or is this like Zwinky? Or can you have sex on here? Or see any avatars naked? If so, I'm not playing on here.
Thanks for your message, Ashlyn. To answer your questions: Yes. No. No. And, no. So rest assured you can play here, with your fully clothed Gamesville Avatar, with other people and their fully clothed Gamesville Avatars.
Of course, if you want to play Three-Eyed Bingo in your birthday suit in the comfort of your own home, that's entirely up to you.
Gamesviller Jonnajoy6565 of Providence, RI, (pictued at left) recently won $4,347 playing Three-Eyed Bingo. Jonnajoy6565 took a moment to chat with us about her win…
GV: Congratulations! What was it like to realize that you'd won?
Jonnajoy6565: I was in shock! At first, I thought maybe my PC was acting up. Then I saw my name listed as a winner and I almost fell off my chair.
How will you spend your winnings?
First, I plan on paying some bills and then my sons will finally have the Christmas they have only dreamed about! Unless, of course, they start misbehaving and then they will get coal and mom will get herself a car, LOL.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever heard, and who said it?
The best advice I ever recieved was from my foster mother who always told me, "Good things come to those who wait."
What's your favorite thing to do in Providence?
Bingo! I love that game.
Anything else you'd like to add?
Patience is the key to the game. And for those who have never played on Gamesville: Come join us; we have a lot of fun, friendships are made, and, yes, you really can win!
Congratulations are in order once again! Earlier today, Gamesviller Batty1300 of Rensselaer, IN, won $4,020 cash playing Magic 21.
Useless Fact: The Jasper County Courthouse, located in Rensselaer, IN, was burned to the ground in 1865 by an unscrupulous lawyer who was trying to destroy incriminating documents that were housed there. The structure was long-since rebuilt, and a virtual tour is now available.
Pictured to the left is Batty1300's Gamesville Avatar. Don't have a Gamesville Avatar of your own yet? Create your Gamesville Avatar now. It's fun, fast, and free.

Various folks have claimed that the online game World of Warcraft is terribly addictive, but we now have irrefutable proof that it can also save lives. According to GamePro…
A word of advice: If you or someone you love lives in an area with an abundance of moose, we recommend moving. But, failing that, you should purchase a copy of World of Warcraft because it may just save a life. |
