Interview: Ccbloom911 Wins Three-Eyed Bingo, Celebrates With Her Sister

Written by ohryankelley / November 3, 2009 5:42 pm / Add New Comment

Ccbloom911Gamesviller Ccbloom911 of Bowling Green, KY, recently won a whopping $2,769 playing Three-Eyed Bingo.

What was her moment of victory like? What does she treasure most in this world? Find out below…

Gamesville: Congratulations! What was it like when you realized you won?
It's a good thing I have all my own teeth or they would have fallen out! I casually walked to my sister's computer room and asked her very calmly to come to my computer because I wanted to show her something. She wasn't thrilled about it but I managed to coax her to come with me. When we got back to my computer I turned my screen around and told her 'I did it! I finally did it!' We were both thrilled.

What will you spend your winnings on?
A little of my winnings will go towards Christmas presents and my old van needs some work. I have been driving on one donut tire for about two months now, so I can get that taken care of too. That's all the prize money I will spend on myself, the rest I'll use as needed for necessities.

What do you do for a living?
I retired in 2003 from the 911 police fire dispatch center. It was a high stress job and 25 years was enough for me. The best thing now is the freedom, but the worst is that I am not able to enjoy it much because of disabilities. I hardly ever go out, but playing games on Gamesville helps a lot.

What three songs could you listen to for the rest of your life?
Three songs I would listen to for the rest of my life would be:

  • Believe – Brooks and Dunn
  • When I Get Where I'm Going – Brad Paisley & Dolly Parton
  • Faithfully – Lorrie Morgan (originally by Journey)

What do you treasure most in the world?
My sister! We share a home together now so we can help each other out in our quickly approaching golden years. I don't know what I would do without her; she is the only member of my immediate family that is left. My 16-year-old nephew is very special to us and we are very proud of him. He is the best gift we have ever received, given to us by our brother before he passed away 13 years ago, what a gift! We all miss him so much it is hard to put into words.

What does your Gamesville member name mean?
'Beaches' is one of my favorite movies, and Bette Midler played the role of my favorite character 'C.C. Bloom'. I added the 911 because of my former career and to honor all those all over the country that are affiliated with emergency response.

What do you think was the secret to your Gamesville win?
There is no secret to winning here at Gamesville, just keep on keeping on. I have been a loyal Gamesville member for about eight years now, so it was a long time coming. Just hang in there and keep playing, that's all I can say.

What game would you like to see the Gamesville team create next?
Your site is great as it is, but I would like to see a couple of more games with jackpots! Even if some new games paid out like the new Quick-Draw Poker, spreading out the cash with smaller jackpots. I really like single player card games.

Thanks, Ccbloom911 – and congratulations again on your BIG win!

Cindyrellie brings home cash in Magic 21Congratulations to Gamesviller Cindyrellie of Stevensville, Michigan, who scored a big DOUBLE jackpot yesterday playing Magic 21. Why a double jackpot you ask? Because she's a card-carrying GV Gold member, her jackpot was instantly bumped from a cool $777, to a hot $1,554 in cash money!

Useless Facts!

Cindyrellie's hometown of Stevensville was quite literally built from the ground up by its founder Thomas L. Stevens. In 1869 Stevens, originally from Tyngsboro, Massachusetts, purchased 160 acres in an area just south of St. Joseph, Michigan. In exchange for having a railroad depot built on part of his land Mr. Stevens sold a portion of his acreage to the Chicago and West Michigan Lake Shore Railroad Company for the sum of $1.00. In 1870, Mr. Stevens laid the village plot now known as Stevensville. Learn more about Stevensville, MI…

Best Pet: Bambee_’s Pet Parakeet Capt. Morgan

Ahoy, mateys! This week's Best Pet comes to us from Gamesviller Bambee_ of Taylor, MI. Meet her parakeet, Captain Morgan!

Distinguishing Personality Traits

Bambee_ says, "I have had Captain Morgan since she was a baby, I thought she was a male until she reached maturity and I discovered 'he' was a 'she'. I kept the name Captain Morgan anyway because she seems to like it. Female parakeets are not as vocal as males, so she does not chatter much. However she can mimic sounds like the microwave beeping and does it everyday when I come for lunch. Sometimes she will mimic the sounds of some of the games I play frequently on Gamesville!"

Good to know, she doesn't have a mouth like a sailor!

Interview with “Fringe” star Anna Torv

Written by ohryankelley / April 7, 2009 3:51 pm / Add New Comment

Anna Torv, the star of FOX's Fringe With the return of FOX's scifi series Fringe tonight (airing at 9:00 EST) we had the opportunity to talk with the show's star Anna Torv about the rest of the first season, the progression of her character, and what we can look forward to in season two. Check out the interview and a special sneak peak of tonight's episode "Inner Child" below:

Gamesville: What are some of your favorite characteristics about the character of “Olivia”?

Anna: Her sense of duty. I like that I play a character where I kind of go to work and put her armor on, her dark suits and her badge and her gun. Her sense of duty, her absolute ability to honor her word.

Which do you enjoy more as an actor: an episode in which your character gets lots of action, fighting, gunplay and so on, or when the crazy science elements of the show take center stage?

I love it when I’m in motion. I love doing sort of the rough and tumble, running and gunning. I know that when we’re in the Lab, I just get to be the question machine and I get to watch the boys sort of have fun at “The Walter and Peter Show.” I don’t know which would be my favorite, both for different reasons.

What parts of the science do you like?

I love the stuff that delves into moral and ethical dilemmas, like what people’s boundaries are, what’s appropriate and what’s not. How far do you go in order to find an answer. And particularly with the “Peter,” "Walter" and Olivia dynamic, it’s always changing. Each week, one will be a little bit more gun-ho about wanting to get to the bottom of it no matter what it takes. That's probably the bit that I like the most, actually.

What’s been your favorite scene to shoot so far and why?

You’d think it would be some big, explosive kind of thing, but we shot a scene recently that was just in Walter and Peter’s hotel room, and in it Olivia has just discovered some things about her past and some things that Walter is connected to, and I loved shooting that because it was the first time that I felt like Olivia really inched her way into that dynamic of Peter and Walter. She’s been kind of on the outside, and they’ve got their things to deal with, and she’s kind of wrangling them constantly. But this sort of like gave me just a little of glimpse into what could be like having everything, realizing everything is a little bit entwined. Therefore, there becomes a little bit more conflict, like really emotional conflict between them, and I think that’s fun.

How different has the Fringe experience been versus whatever expectations you had heading into it?

I hadn’t done anything quite so ambitious and so plot-driven before, and when I say that, I mean the stories and the cases that you’re covering. It’s not what I expected at all. It far exceeded my expectations.

You're winding down on the first season of Fringe now. Are you excited?

Yes, I’m really excited. I think because we’re gearing up for the end of the season, we sort of started to get a bit more cemented. We’re shooting the season finale at the moment, and I’m really excited. I’m excited at the prospect of where the show could go. If we’re lucky enough to shoot a second season, I think it’s going to be really great.

How was the first season for you, and what are you looking forward to in the second season?

I’m really excited to come back with a little bit of perspective. You know, you’re working, and so you’re so in it. Sometimes doesn’t feel like anything ever gets finished or all completed. I’m excited to sort of take a step back actually and look at what we’ve done and sort of plot out where everybody is now at the end of it.

Fringe returns tonight and airs Tuesdays, 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. Eastern/Pacific Time on FOX.
