When our members run into technical troubles here at Gamesville we ask that they submit their issue to Gamesville Customer Service so we can best diagnose the problem.
Most of the time we ask our members to include a screenshot of their issue so we can have our engineers see exactly what they are experiencing.
Being able to take a screenshot (that is, a picture of the activity on your computer screen) is a very handy trick because pictures can sometime explain what words cannot and will likely help us better understand the particular problem you’ve encountered. To help us help you we’ve developed this quick “how-to” on taking screenshots:
How to take a screenshot on Microsoft Windows:
- To capture the active window press Alt + Print Screen, or
- Press Print Screen to capture your full computer screen
From there you’ll need to paste this screen capture into a graphic to create and image file. To paste this screenshot into an actual graphic:
- Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > Paint
- Press Ctrl + V to paste the screen capture into Paint
- Select File > Save As
- In the Save In field, select a location to save the file, such as your Desktop
- In the File name field, type in a name for the file
- In the Type field, select .bmp, .gif, or .jpg
- Click Save
How to take a screenshot on Apple OS:
- Select the active window you want to take a screenshot of, then click these three keys simultaneously: Command(⌘)-Shift-3. This will save a “Picture” file to your desktop automatically.
From there you’ll have to attach the screenshot to your email reply by clicking on the attachment tab above the text field. This information will be a great resource is helping our engineers assist you further.

If you're lucky enough to score a new computer this holiday season, a) we're jealous! and b) you're about to enter a whole new world of entertainment and information. So we thought we'd share some helpful tips to help maximize your Gamesville experience on your new computer:
- Because of the size and speed of the games Gamesville is best viewed in a 1024×768 minimum resolution, with a DSL or better network connection.
- Gamesville uses pop-up windows for essential parts of gameplay, including the game rooms, table selectors and elsewhere. For help with pop-up stopping software see this FAQ.
- Firewalls protect your computer but can also prevent Java games from loading properly. If you need help configuring your firewall software to allow access to Gamesville, please consult your system administrator or the documentation on your firewall software.
- Almost all of Gamesville's games are created using the Java programming language, so you can play them in your web browser. For help with Java-related issues, see our Java FAQ.
- Most Gamesville games use Java; however, a few notable games are powered by Flash, including Magic 21, Super Chef and Quick-Draw Poker. For help with Flash-related issues, see our Flash FAQ.
- A special note for laptop and netbook users: it is reccomended that your hardware contatin 2 gb of memory to optimize your experience.
Should you run into any problems that are not addressed by the above suggestions please visit the full Gamesville help section or let us know by contacting Gamesville customer service.

Gamesville is experiencing technical difficulties, and has been intermittently for several hours. Problems range from being unable to save avatar changes to not being able to play games at all.
We've heard from a number of frustrated people. Please understand, we share your frustrations: Every minute you can't play is another minute our business is failing to entertain you (which violates one of our core missions as a business) and is another minute we're not generating the revenue we should be.
Our engineers continue to work overtime to restore normal operations, and I hope to have good news to report shortly.
Sincerely,
Chris Cummings

Please be advised there was a brief service interuption today that resulted in a number of Gold members seeing ads in their games. This issue has been addressed, and we apologize for what happened.
If you are signed into a Gold account and are still seeing ads, please exit your browser (close all windows) and then return to Gamesville. If that does not resolve the issue for you, please contact customer support with your Gamesville member name.
Sincerely,
Chris Cummings
