Are you a prankster?

AprilFoolsI’m not too creative but I love how folks get into the spirit of April Fools Day.  Seeing as the big day is Monday, I thought I would give those with a mischievous streak a heads up so they can start planning!

A couple pranks that I think are funny (though I have never done them) are disguising onions as candy apples and swapping out hand lotion for mayonnaise.  As you can see, I’m very sedate when it comes to practical jokes.

Last year the Huffington Post made a Top 10 Best April Fools’ Pranks Ever list – it’s pretty funny so check it out.

 

Do you love playing tricks on family or friends?  I would love to hear about some funny April Fools Day pranks that you have done or been the victim of.

Happy Waitangi Day!

The Treaty of Waitangi was signed on this day in 1840, making New Zealand a part of the British Empire and guaranteeing Maori rights as British citizens. I’ve never been but having seen all the Lord of the Rings movies (including The Hobbit), I want to some day. I mean, just check that vista! Beautiful.

Today is the 94th anniversary of the Boston Molasses Disaster

Also known as the Great Molasses Flood, a large molasses storage tank burst in 1919 and a wave of molasses rushed through the streets of Boston at an estimated 35 mph, killing 21 and injuring 150. As the temperature was a balmy 40 degrees Fahrenheit, the 2,300,000 gallons of this sweetener rushed through the city unhindered in a wave between 8 and 15 feet high.

Some say that on hot summer days, the neighborhoods effected still smell like molasses. Goes to show that everything can be dangerous. Even delicious, delicious molasses.

What are your resolutions for 2013?

So we’re a little over a week into the New Years and I just realized that I haven’t made up a list of “self improvements” for myself to fail at! Mostly it’s because I’m pretty much flawless (all of you stop laughing!) but also because I’m lazy. Hey, I just found the first thing on my list!

  • Stop being so handsome.
  • Be more understanding.

It’s going to be tough, I assure you. ;)

In all honesty, though, at Gamesville we’re committed… to improving your experience and your fun! We’ve got a lot of plans in place and new games in the pipeline to help. Almost all of these are a direct result from feedback you’ve given us and I hope we get a chance to implement them! More details as events warrant, as always.

What are your resolutions for this up-and-coming year? Or, if you don’t need any, how perfect *are* you? :)
