Scientists recently discovered the second smallest salamander in the United States

Scientists discovered a new type of salamander this week near a creek near in northern Georgia. The new species, named the patch-nosed salamander, is so different from other salamanders in the region that it was placed in a new genus. Scientists believe this is the first new genus of a four-footed creature found in the U.S. in 50 years. Find out more about this new discovery at at National Geographic…
