This week’s Best Pets comes to us from Gamesviller Pamka65 of Melbourne, Florida!
Distinguishing Personality Traits
Pamka65 shared with us why Smoki was so special to her. “This is my little Smoki, she was a huge part of our family and was my best friend for the past 20 years. She recently went to heaven – Tuesday, January 17th.
Smoki brought a lot of joy to myself and my family with her playfulness and her great personality. She was the Matriarch of the family and always seemed to let the other pets know it. She was always their to keep them in line when things got out of hand, yet she was the most loving cat I know, always there for me through good times and bad.
She was also one to sleep in the craziest of places and positions, always bringing a smile or a laugh to your face. Her favorite place to sleep was on the pillow above my head, either with her paws outstretched hanging down over my forehead or with her head nudging mine. Smokie was the best and we are missing her greatly.”
We’re sorry for your loss Pamka65 but thank you for sharing Smoki with us.

So sorry Pamka65 for your loss. 20 years is a long time to share with a cat but I had one who lived until he was almost 19. I understand what you are going through, having lost my Sable last summer.
Thank you for sharing Smoki with us. And remember, someday you will be reunited with her and all those who have passed on. But for now, she will be watching over you and the rest of her family.

What a sweet girl, Smoki certainly looks like a queen looking over her indoor kingdom with that pose. I believe their souls always remain near, watching over us and the other animals and comforting all with happy memories. I’m sorry for your lost….. but WOW, what a great kitty (TLC) mom you are Pamka, that’s a remarkable age. Thanks for sharing & so sorry.

Im really sorry for your loss. Pretty cat and I am sure you have great memories. I recently had a pet post. And my Nikki dog which is the Beagle will be leaving us soon. She has tummy cancer and we cherish each day we are able to have her here without her suffering. But the time is drawing near. Thanks for sharing and hopefully this post will still put good memories with you.

just this side of heaven is a place called rainbow bridge.
when an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to rainbow bridge. there are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. there is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
all the animals who had been ill and od are restored to health and vigor, those who were hurt or maimed are mad whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. the animals are happy and content, except for one small thing, they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
they all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. his bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carring him faster and faster.
you have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be partd again. the happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress th beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but nver absent from your heart.
then you cross rainbow bridge together……..

Sorry for loss of Smoki. I know she will be missed very much. Be assured that you will meet again on that rainbow bridge. I truly believe that our pets will be the first to greet us when it is our time. She looked like a beutiful cat.

My condolences, Pamka65, from one cat lover to another. We had a furry death in the family last October. She was the oldest, also about 20 yrs old. And my youngest has not been the same since. Even they feel a loss. I googled pet poems for a friend with a sick dog and came across the Rainbow Bridge one, as well as others. It helps.

Pamka, So very sorry for your loss. Yes, the rainbow bridge is beautiful. My vet sent it to me when I lost my dog Bella last year. It is good that you have other pets to fill your time as you grieve your friend Smoki. Be thankful that you were able to give her a loving home for 20 years, many kittys do not have that so she was blessed in her lifetime.

I’m not sure where i should submit this…but here goes…Mega and Felix… Yes.. today is my bday and i sure would like to win something, but most likely i won’t..Gamesville should have like say a bday button where you can win maybe $5.. that way you know that you would win something at least once a year… Maybe even if its an incentive for paying members only… Well think it over it was just a thought…Have a great day…thanks, Skunky09

Pamka, ss there has to be a grieving process when something like this happens. Remember the wonder of your 20 year relationship with Smoki and how happy she was. Perhaps she is just making room for another cat who needs you!

Hi Pam–mdf–So sorry to hear about Smoki your cat. Dave had told me the story. She was a very pretty cat. To share a story with you, my sister had a stray female cat show up at her house and so she decided to keep her. She was a dark silver color. She named her Silver. I think Sliver lived like 18-19 yrs. My sis was really attached to her. She had Silver put to sleep. That was hard for her to go thru. She was blind and not eating at that time. Take care Pam and talk to you soon mdf. Willy.

I’m very sorry to hear about the loss of your cat Pam. I also had a cat by the name of Smokie. She was a beautiful blue point himalyn who lived to be 16. I bet the cats are up there playing on rainbow bridge and waiting to reunite with their owners.

So sorry for the loss of your little Smokie. She looks like she was so soft and cuddly.
Comment by dingoateyourbaby — February 4, 2012 @ 6:44 pm
Dearest Pamka, if you had all that love for Smoki for 20yrs than i know you have love in your heart to go to the shelter and fulfill the heart of another kitten or cat for 20 more years. You would be saving a cats life and healing your broken heart at the same time. Win win situation i think. I think Smoki would want you to be happy. I know i want you to be happy. Just think about it please.
