If you read the comments in this blog, you know that tournaments are kind of a hot topic at Gamesville.
As of this moment, Gamesville does not host any official tournaments or leagues. However, we are aware that various sites, including Rankmonster, use our game rooms for player-run tournaments and similar activities. We've heard from players who like these tournaments and we've heard from players who don't like these tournaments.
Here's what we've done to try and meet the needs of both groups of players…
As of April 6, we've started offering rooms that are specifically for tournament play. These rooms are easily identified by their names: "Tournament Room" followed by a number (e.g., "Tournament Room 1").
Right now, we offer tournament rooms for the following games:
- Dominoes
- Euchre
- Frantic Fish
- Hearts
- Magic 21
- Miami Dice
- Pool
- Spades
- Spite and Malice
If you're a member of a tournament or league, please be polite to your fellow players and use ONLY these tournament rooms for your tournaments.
If you're not currently a tournament player and you're looking for a tournament or league to join, please enter one of these new tournament rooms and ask a tournament host or member for more information.
If people are using a non-tournament room for their gameplay, please politely ask them to use a tournament room. If that doesn't work, simply use your block button to silence them.
Thanks for your assistance in this matter. As always, please be sure to give us your feeback on this topic, or any other.
Chris

Spite n Malice ……
there is still an issue with trny rooms . they get boom barded with non trny players .. heres reason why .. they want to play rated game against the bot . only way for that to happen is for a player to join their table then leave table … that makes it a rated table against bot. these players have trubble findin people to start bot for them in regular rooms. so they are attracted to the trny rooms now ..i entered a trny room 2 nights ago. 10 tables had non trny players playin the bot, which gives us less tables .. forcin us to have to host in other rooms… i just feel something needs to be done about rated tables w/ bots.it becomes annoyin every 5 secs someone askin you to start the bot for them. when that option is avalable when they set table.the option doesnt allow it to be rated. can this issue maybe be looked at as well?????non trny players complain but 99% of the time its a trny player thats starting the bot for them …so they stop flooding the lobby askin for someone to start it for them….. just another frustration that hopefully can be resolved

Hi Chillyyy ……… I have no idea whats going on in tourney rooms but Spite n Malice (including Spite 2 that you host at) continues to hold tournies in regular rooms. PLS STAY OUT OF REGULAR ROOMS when you and your fellow hosts host tourneys!!!

The site looks good, however, where do you look up who is the winner of the weekly and monthly drawings?

I love the site, you're doing a great job! Played at many through the years and really enjoy it here. Would love to stay and play, but please get rid of the gliches with the ads, so tired of the freezes. Never played anywhere with this much of a problem. Keep up the good work!

Evidence that Spite 2 continues to use game rooms when tournament rooms have space.
THey are Hosting right now in sanibel and there is space in tournament rooms.

If this is the case why not just tell those players they are in a tournament room and will need to go to a non tournament room to have a bot set for them. This way everyone is happy?

I really enjoy playing Three-Eyed Bingo and Magic 21. When I play bingo and the smiling Budda and the Flirt Thermometor come on the game slows down and partially freezes. It makes it very difficult to hear the caller and daub the numbers. I sincerely hope that something can be done to solve this problem.

every comment I've seen in the lobby chats are all negative on the new badge icons and faces … why change what was perfectly fine? Now the badges are hard to distinguish and the emoticons don't really portray the reason they are used … Can you please consider changing the badges and the emoticons back to what they were???

We are having an issue with this situation this morning. Apparently GV has all but 1 regular room closed and the 3 Tournament Rooms open, so all the Tournament Rooms are being flooded with non-tourney players. We on Spite 1 always tell our hosts NEVER to tell a non-tourney player to leave a table or a room – we feel that is beyond rude as we don't "control" the rooms… but since we have over 30 hosts and run tournaments every 5-15 minutes, at this moment we have 3 hosts in Tournament Room 1 trying to run tourneys due to the lack of rooms … we will not encroach on the other ladders by venturing into Tournament Room 2 or 3 as those (we were told) are for our Sister Ladders. If there comes a time and maintenance is being done (or whatever the reason the regular rooms are closed) – it might be nice if we were given some advance warning so our hosts could space out our tournaments and not have the madhouse we are dealing with now.

Chris:
When it comes to hosting in only tournament rooms there are not enough tables for us to host our tournaments. If you are going to have us hosting in ONLY tournaments rooms please have atleast 3 tournament rooms per ladder. We currently have 3 ladders and it's impossible for us to host in just one room. Just like Chilly said we have many people taking up tables that are not part of the tournament because they want a robot. Today we have been hosting in one room and have had a full room all morning we are really getting the raw end of the deal and when we have 500+ players (Just on spite 1) contributing to gamesville it seems to me that it would be worth making us the rooms we need to host if people are complaining about the rooms being used by tourney people. I surely hope there is a fair fix to this situation that will benefit Tournament players as well as non-tournament players.
Thanks so Much!

I also host on Rankmonster, and have to agree that no non-tourney players are ever turned away because of the tournaments that we host, and I have personally come across a few of those players that would much rather play in a tourney room, so I see both sides, however, I have to agree that one tournament room is not nearly large enough to suit our needs. We have many hosts on our ladder(Spite 1) alone. Could you please consider giving us more rooms?

ANother thing I would like to add is that, I believe that we are all here for the same reaon, enjoying the game, not necessarily the competition, and i believe I speak for MOST players when I say that. The IS a happy medium, and I also believe that everyone involved could be very easily satisfied if all sides are taken into consideration. Never once have i ever seen a reg player put out of a tournament room, why have we been locked out of regular rooms? Chris, would you, could you please work with us to resolve this?

Well said.
Also another comment is that we are never ever rude like Dragg said to non tournament players. It's usually us who start there robots so they can enjoy a rated game. I dont understand what the problem of us being in a public room is, when we have regulars who come in that are not tourney players and chat with us. Being confined to a tournament room would take that away from not only us but the other players who we enjoy talking to that just dont join us for one reason or another.
Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee reconsider this!!!!

I have been playing Three-eyed bingo for years now and recently I have been blocked because Internet Explorer is saying there is no signature on file for your site. I am lost without this site, is there any way you could post your signature with Internet Explorer so I can enjoy my games again.
