Thanks to everyone’s excellent feedback, we’ve updated some elements in Frantic Fish to make the game play easier and faster! The first thing you’ll notice are the changed numbers. We’ve heard from many of our users that the original numbers were hard to see while trying to play the game frantically (ba-dum-pssh!). Bam! Done! We’ve also addressed some issues concerning the crazy amount of animation in the game: some people’s machines just can’t handle it. While we’re not exactly on the bleeding edge here at GV HQ, we’ve got some beefy computers to help us do our work and we can lose sight of the fact that not everyone’s running a quad-core mega-machine. So we added a switch to turn animations on or off to accommodate all our players!
We’ve also changed the tickets so that they are now playable until the end of the game!
I know some people are still having some issues with the size of the game (chat being cut off). There are two things you can do that may help:
- Sometimes the pop-out window is too small (like in Chrome) and needs to be expanded. Grab the corner of the window with your mouse and just drag it to expand the window.
- The resolution of your screen might be set too low. Microsoft has a great tutorial on how to do so that’s very easy to follow (and even includes a video!). While it covers Windows 7, the basic ideas should work in every version of Windows: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Change-your-screen-resolution
If the resolution is still too low (800×600 maximum) then I am afraid the game will always be a little small. As we improve the games and make them more modern we need to take advantage of higher resolutions (we are shooting for 1024×768) so we can have better animations and more gameplay.

on the size of the game; if you’re using internet explorer thare should be a magnifying glass and a percentage next to it in the bottom right corner of the page. make sure it is set to 100%, if it’s higher than this it can cut of a portion of your game screen.
I’ve never been able to ‘grab’ the corner of a game screen to change its size, the little dots are there but I can’t change the size.

Oh my gosh, I couldn’t wait until my lunch hour today to haul my laptop down to the break room to see the changes on my new favorite game. Wow! You guys are so awesome – 100% improvement!!! Much easier to see the numbers on my little fish friends and being able to turn off the animations greatly improved my game – now I no longer lag! Thanks so much for fixing it!! xoxo

I wish I could see the changes- everytime they change it resets the server and i have trouble loading the games afterwards…..
it was great as it was…..

Mega please settle something for us. Do you have to make the top 5 to be entered into the sweeps? The “how to play” reads that way but some say no. That every entry is entered. Some of us dummies are confused> Thanks much for all you do.

Numbers are MUCH clearer now…ty very much! Also I love being able to turn the animations off….that drove me crazy
What I find strange is the fact that it screwed up my screen now…I never had a problem before but now 1/2 of the chat bar is cut off. I can hit F11 and it makes it full screen but then I can’t play any other game. Oh well, I am just happy to see the numbers!

Grammac here is what it says on the How to play:
Win GV Rewards and entries into our daily CASH sweepstakes by making bingo lines and finding gold coins! Each game’s top scorers win bonus GVs and sweepstakes entries.
So you get sweepstakes entries even if you dont make T5. You just get Bonus sweepstake entries and gvs if you do make T5.
Hopefully Mega can come in and clarify that we are reading it correctly.

Good question! Alaskanqtpa is correct: Everyone can now earn sweepstakes entries during the game regardless of whether they make it to, or finish in, the Top 5.
Sorry that wasn’t clearer… We just updated the game description to (hopefully!) more accurately describe who and how you get sweepstakes entries now.

hi Chris, i just signed up today and got my gold today as well, but now it wont let me into gold 21…. i activated the gold membership this aft so i thought maybe it didnt go through yet, any help plzzzzzzzzz

it actually depends on what browser you are using hunnie~~~chrome you have to click on the little wrench in the upper right hand corner and go to “under the hood” and then clear browsing history..it will pop up all the options you need~~
Internet exp.~~at the top you have Internet options in one of your tabs~~go to that you will see how to clear cookies ..history etc…
for Ie there is also a great program skatterbrane intro’d me to called windows clean up by steven gould~~~free to download and as per how you set it can clear everything in under a min flat~~and it makes a flush sound which always gets a giggle at my house lmao~~

Hi guys.. just wanted to tell you that I really love the updated Hot Streak Solitaire & Frantic Fish.. such excellent graphics & awesome gvs! But.. was wondering why our entires in F.Fish disappear each time we leave the game for awhile & is there or could there be a way to track our daily entries like in H. Streak Solitaire? Thanx for such an excellent website!

love the updated F Fish but would love it if i my settings would stay to what i set them to .. i have lost many 1st round fish trying to be fast enough to turn on animation, auto daub and then scratch the tiki ticket. its frustrating to do this every time i come into the room to play

I love the new frantic fish. easy to see numbers, tiki bonuses do me great…still struggling for top 5. Do you have to be a GV member to win in the games? If not, does it go by how many hours you play, or does it just randomly pick? I would love to win something from gamesville, and a jackpot from one of the bingo ames would be great…I’m just sayin…

We need new games for GOLD members only besides gold21 which is nothing. People that pay for gold membership should have games like magic,three eyed, coverall, quickdraw that only they can win. There needs to be something for us over the free players………It would no only make Gold members happy but give other people the incentive to join which would be a win for gamesville as well as gold members……

Also, brat-diannez: We are a *very* small team of people here and, in addition to designing, illustrating, animating, and programming games we have to make sure the site stays up as much as possible, address people’s concerns and comments, and deal with tons of infrastructure.
As much as I’d like to crank out a quality game every week it’s just not possible given the resources we have. We do our best, though, so I hope that’ll be okay.
That being said we didn’t even OFFER a Gold Only game until last year. While more Gold Games are certainly in the works, I feel that not having any advertising is a nice bonus too.
As for the Trading Post, I hope you understand that we don’t switch things around just to upset our users. I’m sorry that it’s upsetting and I’ve explained my views in earlier comments across several of the blog posts.

Good thing some folks were not here when this site first opened up. You would have been sorely disappointed. Some people have no idea just how far this game site has come in the last 13 yrs. I have seriously just loved all the changes I have seen in the last 2 yrs alone.
