A few months ago, we made over the old "Magic 21" game into the all-new Magic 21 game you know and love today.
We're now doing something similar with our Spades game.
In addition to re-skinning Gamesville Spades to make it more graphically appealling, we're also introducing some new features such as integrating Gamesville Avatars into the game, giving you the ability to select different "skins" for the game, and improving playability and GV Rewards integration.
But enough blabbing: Let me show you what it's going to look like.
For comparison's sake, here is the original (current) Gamesville Spades game…

And here is the new (coming soon) version of Gamesville Spades…

As always, we're interested in your feedback so please feel free to share your thoughts with us. And stay tuned for updates as we get closer to the big unveiling of the all-new Gamesville Spades!

That really looks great! When can we play the new game?

This is going to take some getting use to. I have been a player here for many many years and even run tourneys via rankmonster. Some kind of notice would have been great. Also there is no way to stay at table to play a 2nd game…or atleast I cant figure it out. I love the fact that we get GV and you can limit time on play. But hate that you cant stay at table for a second game and cant see the lobby while at game table. These are 2 very big problems and I hope they can be fixed asap.

While I do find the appearance of the new spades tables to be more appealing, there are some flaws that if aren't taken care of, will cause many players to go elsewhere. I host tournaments on GV, and with your new tables, it makes it much harder to watch the lobby, and still play a game. Before you could view both fully, and now you cannot. Also, we played some games, and after each game we clicked on "play again"; but it did not allow us to play again. We had to set a new table for each game. After my opponent left the table, it did not give me the option to invite, or insert a computer player. I do like the fact you can use a timer, and I also like the added reward points you get now. Overall, if I had to make a choice, I would prefer the old spades, unless the "improved" spades is made right.

the new table is ok but it's too long, and as a host i cant adjust it to be able to read lobby and play at the same time. so i vote for the old way to be brought back.

You guys even messed up the scoring !!! After getting 10 overbooks, you are supposed to go back 100 points. Overbooks, "sandbags", are an important part of the game…How bout doing all of us a favor, and stop "improving" our games, and bring our spades back. …Guess it's time to stop "wasting my time" on Gamesville. Most players come here to play spades, not to look at the pretty backgrounds and avatars.

I don't mind the new "look" but there are some issues that needs to be fixed asap. One is when we finish a game and then click on play again the table does not reset it self and only shows the score from the previous game. Another issue is when a player leaves the table it does not give an option to invite a new player so therefore the table is frozed till another player joins the table. I was very happy with the old look we had and i think this is looking to much like the game site Pogo .PLease get the issues fixed before ya decide to upgrade anything else like the Lobby.
Thank You , jennifer32068

have been playing in GV spades for 2 or 3 years now and also host tournaments in here. first I agree with some that more notice would have been nice and 2nd I have to say that under the new set up POGO Spades is more user friendly than in here. not one of those it ain't broke don't fix it types but also feel that these changes are gonna go as well as the last time y'all tried updating the player icons. and furhtermore, if I want to play on POGO style tables then I will go to POGO

hi….to all gv staff…..what do they call ya….oh yeah producers ..website designers or graphics artsmen! well whatever ur position may be……WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO GV SPADES! i have not been on in awhile do to being sick but when i got on to spades tonite i was very dissapointed! Although u may have some that like the change…..and i do like the fact that u now can earn gv points ….who cares about how pretty it looks! not rankmonsters and gv spaders that play in tournies! YES i have played here for many yrs and never saw a thing wrong with the way it was! NOW u cannot see the lobby when in a game room and u cannot start a second game…also when a player leaves u have to wait for a new player to join …..what the heck happened to the invite button???? I have been a hostess on rankmonsters for gv spades for awhile and only know that new changes will totally affect the outcome of our tourneys……..PLEASE reconsider …..and fix these problems ASAP! or u will lose some lifelong gv players i guarentee that!!!
Players dont care about avatars and all that …that is why their virtual internet worlds on the web….for those who like to chat! we jus wanna play spades …thats all!!!!!and if this is for competion with POGO well at least u can see the lobby and the game at the same time in there! AND i hate pogo spades! SO PLS BRING BACK GV SPADES….THIS LOOKS MORE LIKE A KIDDIE SITE! THANK U AND PLS RECONSIDER LETTIN THE WORD GET OUT AND NEXT TIME U MIGHT WANNA KNOW WHAT WE THINK FIRST BEFORE U GO MESSIN IT UP!

i know u can create a better spades room than this! we dont wanna be reminded of pogo when playin …but im sorry i feel like im in pogo……YUCK! good eve and fix this pls!

do not like the new pages you have created. I find it very confusing. I have to adjust my screen every time the game begins. Please go backback to the tried and proved .

hello e1;
EUCHRE— It is not bad but what is with this having to set new table after every game when we finish? That ia terrible, not good at all . I went into check after my husband told me and sure enough when game was over and I click to play again nothing happened. And in order to play again I had to leave the table and reset a new one. Please you have to fix this problem a.s.a.p. Other wise players are going to stop coming into GV and turn to POGO.

We just released a patch that should address this issue. Please close your browser and try again. If you still cannot play, please contact customer service at help.gamesville.com.

So, this is all you are going to do? You put a little patch on it, and go? Why have an option on the bottom to save your options for the next game, and every time my options aren't saved?? You've got a lot of work to do to bring Spades up to Pogo standards. I have been playing at GV for over 2 years, and while the graphics are nice, we come here to play spades…We also have tournaments here, and you have made much more difficult to host these tournaments. How about programming the bots to play spades also. As I see it, GV Spades has been downgraded.
Comment by "husker_4_life0" — November 9, 2007 @ 10:23 pm
Ok, we can now stay at a table and continue playing without having to set a new table for each game. ty…but still needing fixed: #1 if a player leaves the table and you put a bot in, you cannot invite another player…#2 table still too big; can't see lobby chat , and also have to read fast in the room, chat box in room too small…#3 doesn't save settings after checking "save options for next time i play spades"…#4 doesn't reset number of overbooks back to zero at start of next game….I do like the graphics, and extra GV points….fix #1 – 4 and I'll be an almost happy camper…Thanks for trying to get problems solved.

I hate the new spades. Please change it back the way it was. Very much like Pogo which is horrible.

How do I cancle my account? I just signed in and am dissappointed in the choice of games. Someone told me I could play Mystery PI here and it's not on the list. There is also no info on how to get ahold of anyone at your company if I need to. Please email me at elfling3232@aol.com with the info. Thanks.
